Námafjall, the mountain south of Námaskarð, with geothermal heat all over the east side of the mountain, which looks light yellow from a distance. Sulphur was mined there for centuries from the Hlíðarnámur mines and exported. Great care must be taken and all warnings observed as there have been many accidents. Námaskarð, a narrow pass between the mountains Námafjall and Dalfjall.
Take road no. 1 from Mývatn direction Egilstaðir. Námáfjall and Námaskarð is about 7 km from Mývatn.
There is abolutely no pool where you could bath. Only hot muddy pools with boiling water. Cool place – but no hotspot.
